The Expert Behind the Neurohammer

I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Munich, Germany, in 2015. Soon after, I moved to Switzerland to start getting more practical experience and completed both my doctoral thesis and a rotating internship at the Small Animal Clinic of the University of Bern. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for neurology – a field that requires knowledge combining multiple specialties and a profound patient’s assessment. This intellectual challenge led me to specialize further in this field. To deepen my expertise, I pursued further training via a residency program as well as a PhD in veterinary neurology. Through these years, I had the privilege of working with and learning from great mentors, many different excellent veterinarians and even more from interesting cases.

Since July 2023, I have been part of a large private clinic near Lake Zurich, Switzerland, where I work as a senior clinician and continue to focus on the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders in small animals. I truly enjoy collaborating with colleagues across different specialties to provide the best possible care for our patients and to keep exploring the fascinating (and sometimes complicated) world of veterinary neurology.

My philosophy as a veterinarian is rooted in compassion, empathy and collaboration: I believe that excellent medicine comes from combining advanced medical knowledge with genuine care for every patient, open and clear communication with their owners, and teamwork.

The Person Behind the Expert

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful Swiss

nature – whether it is taking peaceful walks with my dog Lillith, going on long hikes, or scenic horseback rides. Being outside allows me to recharge and stay grounded. Nevertheless, I also value the calmer moments, such as spending a rainy afternoon with a cup of tea and a good book.

Once a year I try to do “little” road trips heading north to Scotland or Wales to explore the stunningly beautiful British landscapes, enjoy the culture, amazing people and – of

course – the weather.

A small dose of yoga, dancing and friends every day additionally helps to keep me sane and happy.
