The Expert Behind the Stethoscope

I earned my veterinary medicine degree from the University of Bern (Switzerland) in 2010, followed by a doctoral thesis and several years in small animal practice and an internship in small animal internal medicine, during which I completed an Advanced Practitioner Certificate.

My curiosity kept pushing me further, so I eventually decided to complete a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at both the University of Bern and Washington State University. In 2022, after achieving my diploma, I returned to Switzerland and took on my current role as a senior clinician in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Zurich.

Working in an academic environment challenges me daily, yet I also value the streamlined efficiency of private practice. I’m deeply passionate about teaching—creating a space that is supportive, relaxed, and productive. My goal is to spark both confidence and curiosity in the next generation of veterinarians.

The Person Behind the Expert

Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, exploring Europe in our camper van, meeting new people, and discovering fresh places. You’ll most often find me outdoors—preferably in the mountains. In winter, I’m on skis or snowshoes; in summer, I’m on my mountain bike or hiking on foot, always accompanied by Calanda and Tacoma, our two lively herding dogs.

After the action and pace of work, I also cherish quieter moments: reading a good book, swimming in the lake, or enjoying great food. My cooking skills might be modest, but I’m lucky to be surrounded by friends and family who spoil me with delicious meals.
